Seasons at
SELAH COTTAGE

Spring

Spring is a gorgeous time of year.  Redbud
trees begin to bloom in the middle of March,
followed by dogwood trees by the first of
April.  Of course, daffodils have been blooming
since the middle of February!

By April, the water in the pond is warm enough that the fist start biting.  Even when nothing is caught,
the scene is so pretty this time of year, you really don't care!

Temperatures vary widely from
February to May.  One day it may
be nippy and the next downright
hot!  In Tennessee in spring, if
you don't like the weather, just
wait a minute.  It will be different.
As you can see in the picture on
the right, wisteria can be
blooming and then we can get
snow!  Two days later, it was 80
degrees!

In our part of Tennessee, May apples actually bloom and
bear fruit in April!  They say the fruit tastes like strawberries.

Trillium are
among the
many wild
flowers that
bloom in April
and May.
